This vintage Willow Ridge blazer is by far one of the most unique pieces in my closet. I decided to play up the bright colors by pairing it with a fuschia dress & purple belt. I’m sure you can see me from a mile away! LoL
Last Saturday I hosted the first of many exciting events, “Pretty Thrifty”, at Best Thrift in Norfolk, VA. I’m so thankful for my family, friends and followers that made this event a SUCCESSS! We enjoyed listening to oldies, yummy snacks, fun games and THRIFTING of course!
The first 10 guest that registered for the event on Eventbrite.com received a free Young & Thrifted reusable shopping tote available in green, pink and red.
Some guests participated in a little game I like to call “Fashion Flashback!”. In this game you have to put your fashion sense to the test and guess some of our favorite celebrities wearing their signature looks. Can YOU guess the celebrity? (Answer key at bottom of post)
Best Thrift also sponsored a few items to giveaway in the raffle.
We had a fun time taking pics with these cool DIY Photo Props! They were super easy to make and looked great in the photos. Special THANK YOU to my new found friend and owner of Bella Amori Vintage for capturing the event.
Planning and executing my first in-person event has given me the confidence and motivation to push myself harder and reach for the stars. The saying “success is a state mind” is so true, and now I’m finally starting to see all of the positive things that can happen in my life with the right attitude. “Pretty Thrifty” was better than I imagined and now I’m eager to keep the ball rolling. If you missed this event, don’t worry, there will be plenty more in the future! Once again thank you to Best Thrift and everyone that showed their support!

Floral prints were initially popular during the 60s hippie movement, and now this trend has been rejuvenated by a new generation. Flower Power may seem so cliché now, but hippies viewed flowers as a representation of peace & love, and also natural beauty. I created a 60s inspired look by pairing a bright gold dress with a sheer floral vest. This outfit is very free-flowing and comfortable, costing me less than $15!

Singer Janis Joplin was known for her blues-inspired rock music in the late 60s, but her style was just as influential. She was the ultimate boho chic goddess! Pictured below, you can see she liked to wear outfits full of color, layers, and elaborate accessories. Oh, and by the way Janis was a THRIFTER too!
